Buckinghamshire Council has been awarded a £120,000 grant to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable ways of travelling in Buckinghamshire. The project will be aimed at employers and their staff. Small and medium sized enterprises within the county will be given the opportunity to create active travel plans and to trial an app to encourage a safer eco-friendlier style of driving.
Gareth said, ‘We closely monitor air quality levels across the county and know how important this is to local residents, especially in air quality management zones such as Broad Street in Chesham, where pollution in the past has been a real problem. All our areas are currently below the government danger levels and this money will help keep them that way.’
